Basil Lemon Gin Swizzle Cocktail Recipe

Basil Lemon Gin Swizzle Cocktail Recipe —
- Muddled Basil — Handful
- Lemon Zest
- Lemon Juice – 1.5 oz.
- Simple Syrup – 1.5 oz.
- Gin – 3 oz
- Ice
- Soda Water
Muddle basil and lemon zest. Add juice, simple syrup, gin, and ice ingredients in a shaker. Shake well. Strain ice out as you fill a glass 1/2 way. Fill the remainder of the glass with soda water. Garnish with lemon zest and a cherry.
Growing basil is pretty darned simple to do. I used herb seeds from The Drunken Botanist Collection at Territorial Seeds to grow the basil for this particular cocktail in my test garden.
