First Big Vegetable Harvest of 2010 – And A Special Siamese Twin Cherry Tom
Amazing – this week I had my first BIG vegetable haul of the season. What a haul!! Above you see many delicious veggies just waiting for a good recipe.
Cherry Tomatoes
These Burpee Home Gardens plants included Big Beef, Sun Gold Cherry, and Super Tasty Tomato Plants, Flavor burst Peppers, and Golden Zucchini (which turned green because I left them on the in the garden too long – this one was hiding in the leaves).
My favs are the delicious, juicy tomatoes which have juice explode and run down my chin when I eat them. YUM! Also, I got a special surprise in having a Siamese twin cherry tomato land in my picking bowl – my very first.
What are you harvesting right now?
— Burpee Home Gardens supplied the vegetables grown in the garden this season. I write many instructional stories and videos with their incredible vegetable products and donate a large portion of the vegetables to the local food pantry when harvested.
— Organic Mechanics Soil supplied the worm castings and soil for the garden areas which were not crop-rotated this season.
— Aquascape, Inc. supplied the rain water cistern I use for easier watering of the vegetable garden.
How To Plant Annuals More Sustainably In 3 Steps
Looks great Shawna! Last night we picked the last of the green beans, plus some beets, cucumbers, tomatos, and eggplant. This is a fun time of year!
I'm actually planting beets due to a minor disaster in the garden – some ya win and some ya lose, right?
🙂

That is a great haul! I like the siamese tomato.
I am picking beans, lettuce, swiss chard & basil. Tomatoes won't be ripe for a couple of weeks. I hope I have the same success with my tomatoes.
Love those fresh veggies – dripping juice down my chin – YUM!
