There was a two year study done by the Associated Landscape Contractors of America (ALCA) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to determine ways to create breathable atmosphere in outer space. Their research demonstrated that many tropical plants are very effective at processing carbon dioxide as well as other gases and chemicals. Below is the list of recommended plants for reducing toxic chemicals in indoor environments. Removing harmful chemicals and returning fresh oxygen is a great thing for your home air purification.

  1. I just had the privilege of interviewing Steve Asbell who wrote the book Plant by Numbers and in there he talks about all kinds of great house plants to grow … I think I am going to add more houseplants to my collection … you can never have too many right?
