Here you see one of the sexiest garden writers out there, Michael Nolan, posing naked-as-a-jay bird with my book, Gardening Nude. Why? For your entertainment, of course, and also as a generous salute to doing things in the all natural, like gardening without chemicals and living green.
You can imagine how excited I was when I received his recently published book, I Garden – Urban Style By Reggie Solomon and Michael Nolan. I jumped up and down – literally! While Michael is not smiling naked on his front cover, the book does reveal some fantastic urban gardens and easy ideas for planting in small spaces. The best part? Michael Nolan and Reggie Solomon truly shout out the benefits of sustainability in the garden.
I Garden – Urban Style brings a smile to my lips — from providing easy tips for reusing garden items to features on amazing individual gardeners to a vegetable size chart, this urban gardening guide is a delight. Full color photos illustrate concepts and there are even garden fresh recipes in the back. I LOVE IT! What a great little guide to the positive aspects of gardening, particularly in urban spaces.
My favorite tip from the book is what to do while you are away from your plants for a while and do not have a watering person to help you. Going away for a few days is no problem for the person who has built a home-made self-watering device for the planters. Michael teaches you how to do it. Awesome idea!
Special Note – the publishers of I Garden: Urban Style sent the book to me for free, but quite frankly I love the book and would have bought it anyway. The opinions here are my own and were not prompted because I received a book at no cost.
